Steve Wiebe Falls Short Of Donkey Kong Record, Still Cooler Than Billy Mitchell

All throughout the day, G4 had been broadcasting live (online and TV) Steve Wiebe trying to break Billy Mitchell's Donkey Kong record score of 1,050,200 (achieved in 2007). Wiebe came close, ending his third and final try with a kill screen and a final score of 989,400. So close, yet so far away.

Still, it was exciting to watch and Wiebe kept us on our toes with his play. How those springs never got him, I will never know. I am pretty confident he will break the record again one day. In the meantime, if you haven't seen it yet, check out Wiebe's first journey for the record in The King Of Kong.

update: Just saw a commercial on G4 saying to watch him play tomorrow night. Don't know if it was an old commercial for today or if he is actually trying tomorrow (and each day left of E3). Will keep you posted.

update 2: No more Donkey Kong or Wiebe on G4. Was only for Tuesday. This is what it says on the G4 site.
